Big wins for Pact members at RTS Programme Awards

Last night in London the Royal Television Society hosted its annual Programme Awards ceremony recognising extraordinary talent across all genres in British television, including a number of Pact members.

Studio Lambert Founder and CEO, Stephen Lambert (pictured) was honoured with one of the evening’s most prestigious awards, receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award for his career’s work. He was described as ‘one of Britain’s most respected and successful television executives’ and ‘one of our industry’s great innovators, a true visionary who has pushed boundaries and challenged conventions and brought us some of the most talked-about shows of our times.’ Speaking of which, his company also celebrated winning the Entertainment Programme Award for Squid Game: The Challenge, which it produces with fellow Pact-member The Garden.

Wild Mercury’s true crime drama, The Sixth Commandment (which it produced alongside True Vision) was recognised in three categories, winning the awards for Limited Series, Writer – Drama (Sarah Phelps) and Supporting Actor (Male) (EĢanna Hardwicke).

Optomen Television – Formatted Popular Factual for Sort Your Life Out 

Windfall Films – Live Event for Eurovision Song Contest 2023 (produced with BBC Studios Entertainment Productions) 

Sid Gentle Films – Scripted Comedy for Extraordinary 

Story Films – Single Documentary for Otto Baxter: Not A F***ing Horror Story (produced with Archface Films) 

Halcyons Heart Films – Single Drama for Partygate 

IMG – Sports Presenter, Commentator or Pundit to Alex Scott for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 

Cowboy Films – Leading Actor (Male) to Kane Robinson for Top Boy (produced with Easter Partisan Films, Dream Crew and SpringHill Entertainment) 

Roughcut TV – Writer – Comedy to Jack Rooke for Big Boys 

Lookout Point – Drama Series for Happy Valley (produced with AMC)

ITV Studios – RTS Judges Award for Mr Bates vs The Post Office (produced with Little Gem) 

The Royal Television Society Gold Medal was awarded to Dame Esther Rantzen, to recognise the extraordinary career of the legendary broadcaster and producer who was described as a trailblazer for her work on- and off-screen. “By any measure, Esther’s has been a career of huge achievement and impact.”
