Autumn Awards success for Pact members

Pact members' productions, and the on- and off-screen talent behind them, were amongst those receiving recognition at the recent BAFTA Scotland Awards and International Emmy Awards.

At the BAFTA Scotland Awards, which took place in Glasgow on Sunday 19th November, Firecrest Films won the Factual Series Award for Three Mothers, Two Babies and a Scandal, whilst Finestripe Productions won the Single Documentary Award for The Mysterious Mr Lagerfeld. Two Rivers Media won the Entertainment Award for Frankie Boyle's Farewell to the Monarchy, and DSP won the Features Award for Designing the Hebrides. The Television Scripted Award was won by Synchronicity Films for Mayflies

Meanwhile, key creative talent from members' productions – both on- and off-screen – were also singled out. The lead of Unified Theory's film Aftersun, Paul Mescal, won the Actor Film Award, whilst the film's Writer/Director, Charlotte Wells, won the Director Fiction Award and the Writer Film/Television Award. There was also a double win for Lauren Lyle, the star of World Productions' series, Karen Pirie, who won the Actress Television Award and the Audience Award. The Actor Television Award went to Lewis Gribben for his performance in Clerkenwell Films' Somewhere Boy, and the Director Factual Award went to Jono McLeod for his work on Hopscotch Films' My Old School.

At the International Emmy Awards ceremony, held in New York a day later, UK productions and talent won four of the 15 categories celebrating the best in global television. 

Pact members Hat Trick Productions won the Comedy Award for Season 3 of Derry Girls and Magic Light Pictures won the Kids: Animation Award for The Smeds and The Smoos. Martin Freeman won the Best Performance by an Actor Award for his starring role in Dancing Ledge Productions' The Responder.

DLT Entertainment's Donald Taffner, Jr. was the International Emmy Awards Gala Chair this year, which also honoured renowned British screenwriter and producer, Jesse Armstrong with the International Emmy Founders Award.
