Online Event: Pact UK/China TV Symposium
China boasts the biggest population of any country in the world, and it is estimated that by 2025 its media and entertainment industry will be worth over $430bn. This vast market offers tantalising business prospects to the world’s creative companies, and international content has proven popular with Chinese audiences.
But strict regulations and state censorship have created challenges for content businesses, on top of cultural hurdles. Despite this, the 2021 Pact UK TV exports report showed that television exports to China had grown by 24% year on year, making it the UK’s 8th largest TV export market.
Join us for this online event split across two consecutive mornings in March where we will explore what’s next for UK/China relations in the TV sector. We’ll share case studies, look at developing trends, and hear directly from Chinese broadcasters and platforms.
