DISCOP Africa

The TV content market in Africa was worth $500 million in 2014, double what it was in 2011. DISCOP Africa 2015 will host over 2,500 delegates representing over 1,750 companies from over 85 countries. The event brings together independent producers, regional and global distributors, broadcasters, pay-tv, mobile operators and alternative distribution platforms, driving the growth of Africa’s multiscreen and televised entertainment industry.

The three days of this year's DISCOP Africa are themed thus:

- THE CHINA DAY / Wednesday 4th November.
With 2015 being the Year of China in South Africa, China is this year’s DISCOP Country of Honor. This day will be an opportunity to explore partnership potential between Africa and China in the televised entertainment sector.

- FOLLOWING THE STARS / Thursday 5th November.
This day will feature eight of global media’s most innovative, forward-thinking and influential players who will inform and inspire, surprise and delight with expert case-studies, visionary presentations, and unique business models.

- WHAT BRANDS WANT / Friday 6th November.
In a world where millennial generations, trending news, viral events and emerging social media stars impact TV viewers’ depth of engagement with whatever appears on their multiple screens, DISCOP takes a look at what exactly consumer brands expect from televised entertainment creators and content distribution platforms.
