    Claire Mundell is an award-winning Executive Producer and founder of Synchronicity Films, a scripted production company based in Glasgow.

    She is currently in pre-production on The Tattooist of Auschwitz, a 6-part adaptation of the Sunday Times and New York Times Bestseller for Sky Atlantic, and post-production on the feature film Kill, financed by Library Pictures International and Screen Scotland. She recently executive produced the BBC One and BBC Scotland co-commission and 2-part adaptation of Andrew O’Hagan’s acclaimed novel Mayflies, which received a raft of five- and four-star reviews.

    She developed and executive produced the BAFTA winning BBC series The Cry, a psychological thriller starring Jenna Coleman, adapted from Helen FitzGerald’s novel by Jacquelin Perske. Other current projects include Graeme Armstrong’s debut The Young Team and Hanif Kureishi’s The Body. Film credits include Karen Gillan's directorial debut, The Party's Just Beginning and BIFA nominated Only You, starring Laia Costa and Josh O'Connor. Claire is  a PACT Council Member and Co-Chair of Scotland’s TV Working Group. Prior to Synchronicity she enjoyed ten years at the BBC leading the Children’s BBC department at BBC Scotland, and as an Executive Producer within BBC Drama.

    Claire’s feature film career started when she produced the 2009 BAFTA award winning Crying With Laughter, written and directed by Justin Molotnikov, followed by the double BIFA-winning, Weekend, written and directed by Andrew Haigh, and which Claire co-produced. Shortly thereafter, Claire produced Not Another Happy Ending starring Karen Gillan in her first leading feature role. This feature closed the 2013 Edinburgh International Film Festival and played the 2013 Busan International Film Festival. 

    Claire has extensive experience in network television having developed prime-time television drama as an executive producer for the BBC, and having spent 10 years in the BBC in a senior leadership role. Prior to launching Synchronicity, Claire was Head of CBBC Scotland, originating, producing and exec-producing various TV shows including the BAFTA and RTS award winning Shoebox Zoo.

    Claire consults widely for film and TV organisations and is a Council Member and Board Director of PACT.
