Overview
Captain Jac is a bold independent production company run by husband-and-wife team, Catrin and Trystan Rowlands. Together, they’ve built a creative hub in Carmarthenshire that champions unique, meaningful stories across documentaries, factual programming, and content for young audiences. With over three decades of combined industry experience, Captain Jac is driven by authenticity, care, and a passion for making people feel valued both on and off screen.
Captain Jac’s ability to spot a compelling story is second to none. Catrin was instrumental in bringing the true tale of the Swansea Viagra trials to screen in BBC One’s acclaimed 90-minute drama Men Up, and recently developed Busnes Bwyd, a dynamic competition format for S4C where six food entrepreneurs battle to take their businesses to the next level. Having recently completed working on Mari Grug’r cancer documentary, Un Dydd ar y tro for S4C as well as a police access documentary called Curo tu ol i’r drws, they are currently in pre-production for a one hour documentary on Aberfan with The One Show’s Alex Jones, for S4C.
We’re delighted to be part of the Future Wales Scheme. This has come at a perfect time for us in our efforts to grow the company here in West Wales. We’re looking forward to making use of the industry expertise and knowledge available to us on the development programme.
