Overview
This session will explore how racism operates within the TV, film and audio industries, from individual behaviours and experiences to wider structural and systemic inequalities.
Participants will reflect on the role we all play in creating more inclusive environments and explore practical ways to support anti-racist practices within our organisations and across the sector.
In this session participants will gain:
- a clear understanding of racial, ethnic, national, cultural and intersectional identities
- an understanding of what is meant by the term racism (individual acts vs structural and systematic) and how this may play out in the workplace
- insight into what racist workplaces might look and feel like, and the challenges and opportunities of creating anti-racist workplaces
- an understanding of allyship and how it works in practice
This session is designed for and available to anyone working for a TV, film, digital or audio production company, both Pact members and non-members. We encourage senior leadership teams to attend.
If you do not have an existing Pact website login, you will need to register for an account as part of the registration process. This is a quick and simple process and you do not have to work for a Pact member company in order to register.
