The Pact Production Support Initiative (PSI) is a free resource for anyone in film and TV production, but especially those involved in High-end TV (HETV) drama.
Launched last year as a downloadable PDF, it was designed to complement the production support already in place across HETV production, introducing new resources and connections and providing an indicative guide to potential cost implications at the different band levels.
Following review and industry feedback, an updated version of the PSI with over 100 additional directory listings of companies that provide relevant services has now been launched as an online section within the Pact website.
In digital form, the PSI is easier to navigate and can be updated more readily with new information as services change, making it as useful as possible for those who need it.
Background
The PSI was developed by Karl Liegis, Head of Production at 60Forty Films alongside Pact. It is freely accessible to anyone working in HETV, including broadcasters, streamers, unions, guilds, agents, production companies, line producers, HODs and crew members.
The resource aims to demonstrate that no matter what HETV band a production is working at, there are opportunities to take positive action and provide production support.
It is broken down into five key areas where users will find a ‘pick and mix’ of available support in:
-
Accessibility
-
Career Development and Training
-
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
-
Sustainability
-
Welfare and Conduct
Within each area, there are some suggested foundations for HETV productions at all bands in relation to policy, guidelines and best practice; training; and initiatives.
A bibliography of resources as well as a comprehensive directory, including information and details about companies that provide relevant services, is also included to make it as easy as possible to take the next step.
