FIAPF is one of the oldest trade organisations in the film and TV sector and its mandate is to represent the economic, legal and regulatory interests common to film and TV production industries in all continents. The Executive Committee is made up of representatives from countries including the USA, China, India, Denmark, Canada, Australia and Argentina.
Within his role as a Vice President on the FIAPF Executive Committee, Max represents the interests of UK producers in global discussions. FIAPF's key areas of policy work include copyright, technological innovation and economic sustainability. Its work helps to educate decision-makers on the complex economic realities of the film and television sector and to inform policy debates at global, regional and national levels. It is also a regulator for international film festivals.
During Cannes, the FIAPF members discussed developments in EU law; co-production treaties and opportunities in new jurisdictions; the use of AI in the production process; and the evolution of collective agreements.
Pact sits on the boards of a number of UK and international bodies, representing the interests of UK independent producers as part of the work we do on behalf of our members, including AGICOA which collects retransmission revenues for producers from throughout the world. AGICOA distributed a record 200 million euros to its producer members last year after opening up new markets in Latin America.
