Members Vote to Extend Current Council Term

Following the vote, current Council members will now serve until 31st December 2027.

08 Jul 2026

Pact members have today agreed a Special Resolution to temporarily amend Pact's governance structure to allow the current terms of Council members to be extended by a year.

Following a General Meeting held earlier today (Wednesday 8th July 2026), Pact members voted in favour of adopting the temporary measure, which will provide organisational stability, continuity and retention of governance experience during a period of organisational review and leadership transition.

What This
Means

The current Pact Council members have been in post since 1st January 2025 and their terms were due to finish on 31st December 2026.

The passing of this Special Resolution means that for this Council only, the current Council members will serve a term of three years from 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2027.

This is a one-off measure affecting the current Council only, rather than a permanent change to Pact’s Articles.

The next Pact Council election will be held in Autumn 2027, and a newly elected Council will begin its two-year term from 1st January 2028.
