Bosnia has a moderate continental climate, while Herzegovina has a Mediterranean climate.
Winter (December to March) is cold and snowy, especially at higher elevations. Spring (April to May) has green fields and wildflowers in full bloom. Summer (June to September) is hot with long daylight hours. Autumn (October to November) sees leaves changing colour.
Although Bosnia and Herzegovina is a majority Muslim country, many services remain open during Ramadan. There is also a large community of Orthodox and Catholic Christians.
