Bonny Lad Productions Ltd

Bonny Lad Productions is an independent production company based in the North East of England, creating distinctive factual, documentary, entertainment and branded content.

Founded by experienced Producer/Director Jonny Smith, Bonny Lad combines strong editorial storytelling with a highly practical production approach, taking projects from initial idea and development through to filming and delivery.

We work with major broadcasters, streamers and brands, with credits across BBC, ITV, Netflix, Adidas and Red Bull. We are particularly interested in character-led stories, access-driven factual, popular factual and formats rooted in strong people, communities and places.

Proudly based in the North East, we work both regionally and across the UK, developing original ideas alongside production partnerships, co-productions and commissioned content.
