How does it work?

The platform is free to all Pact member companies and functions like an online university module. The course starts at the beginning of September each year and requires a commitment of approximately two hours per week over six months.

It features live sessions with industry experts as well as pre-recorded content, which can be viewed and read in your own time and can easily be fitted in around other work commitments.

There are a range of modules explaining IP and rights, distribution, global trends and exploitation, as well as commissioning, co-production and new commercial models for TV production.

Please note: the course details may not be exactly the same from year to year.

Who is it for?

Pact Skills is targeted at junior freelancers and staff members within indies but may also be suitable for people who have joined an indie from another area of the film and television sector or from another industry altogether.

Everyone who successfully completes the course will receive an industry-recognised certificate of completion.

The course is also available to universities offering screen industry-related courses. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Chris Curley: Chris@pact.co.uk.

How to sign up

Anyone from or working with a Pact member company can register on the Skills platform and take the course for free. However, there is only one registration window each year. Details of the registration window will be shared with Pact members and the wider industry via the Pact website, weekly newsletter and social media channels at the relevant time (usually late Spring/Summer).

If you are a Pact member, you should receive the weekly newsletter automatically. If you are not a Pact member, you can sign up to receive updates from Pact here
