Candle & Bell

Maria Caruana Galizia is the founder of Candle & Bell, a Gateshead based production company. Named one of the Top 50 Creative Companies in England by Creative England and recipients of the BBC Small Indie Fund for comedy 2023.

Maria recently produced ShortFLIX 2 for Sky Arts and Creative UK. She is in development on Marwell, a feature film by Benjamin Bee, supported by the BFI and Soon We Will All Be History Here, a feature film by Saeed Taji Farouky supported by Torino Script Lab and Jordan Film Fund. 

In total, Maria has produced 15 short films, won two RTS awards and been long listed for BIFA and BAFTA awards.
