Working with Children and Young People: From Casting to Wrap

Join this session to better understand how safeguarding and compliance can be embedded throughout the production process when working with children and young people.

Event
Overview

Working with children and young people can be a rewarding part of any production, but it also requires specialist knowledge and careful planning.

This session is designed to help productions understand their responsibilities, make informed decisions and effectively mitigate risks when working with children and young people.

Following the journey a child may take through a production, from casting through to wrap, we will explore key considerations including:

  • casting and child licensing
  • pre-production planning
  • policies and procedures
  • education and the role of chaperones
  • safeguarding and welfare
  • creating an audit trail to evidence compliance and good safeguarding practice

We will work through practical scenarios, considering safety, responsibility and compliance at every stage, with an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
