Understanding the Law on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

This event will set out what UK production companies need to do to comply with the law around sexual harassment in the workplace, with a focus on updates which came into force in October 2024.

In October 2024, a new legal duty requiring employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace came into force. This event will set out what UK production companies need to do to comply with the updated regulations and offer practical steps to put a plan in place.

During the session Ben Power, author of the online Sexual Harassment Toolkit for Film and TV and Employment Lawyer at Reviewed & Cleared will cover key areas including:

  • How sexual harassment can manifest in the industry, and its root causes
  • What the law says
  • How to put a preventative action plan in place

There will also be plenty of time for questions to be answered.
