Pact joins BCC to strengthen copyright protections for indies

Pact has recently become a member of the British Copyright Council (BCC), a not-for-profit organisation that provides a forum for discussion of copyright law and related issues at UK, European and International levels.

We decided to join the BCC following the Intellectual Property Office's Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property: Copyright and Patents consultation, where Pact's stance aligned with the response of the BCC.

Rapidly evolving AI technology poses new challenges to IP rights, and we hope that by being a part of the BCC we can both increase our knowledge in this area and help to ensure that the interests of independent producers are represented at the highest levels.

Members of our Legal and Business Affairs Team will attend regular meetings with the BCC and we will keep Pact members updated with any relevant news and developments in this area.
