Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony in LA marked the official end of the 2019/20 film Awards Season.
Amongst those honoured on the night were Pact members Neal Street Productions whose World War 1 drama, 1917 picked up three awards: Best Cinematography - Roger Deakins; Best Visual Effects - Guillaume Rocheron, Greg Butler & Dominic Tuohy; and Best Sound Mixing - Mark Taylor & Stuart Wilson. Fellow Pact members, Grain Media won the Best Documentary Short award for Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (If You're a Girl), for which they also won a BAFTA award.
Bong Joon-ho’s South Korean comedy-drama, Parasite was the big winner on the night, scooping four awards and making history as the first film not in the English language to win Best Picture at the event.
