MIPTV 2012
summary:
description:
Twice a year we manage the UK Indies stand at MIPTV (April) and MIPCOM (October) in Cannes – the world’s biggest market for our sector’s content.
Hosting upwards of 35 companies, the UK Indies Pavilion offers a top notch commercial and promotional service for those who participate. Over recent years, as testament to the fact that our stand is one the busiest stands at the market, UK Indies has generated well over £100m of deals.
At MIPTV in 2011 alone over £20m deals were done – the biggest ever.
"The UK Indies stand at MIPCOM was extremely professionally run by Pact and really helped us as a start up company to get our international business off the ground".
Oliver Ellis, Joint Managing Director, hoho entertainment.

"The stand is an invaluable asset for small production or distribution businesses.
There is no doubt that pooling space with other companies makes MIPCOM affordable for companies who aren't yet able to splash out on expensive stands - or ocean-going yachts."
Simon Shaps, Chairman, Mercury Media International
TAP Grants
Pact operates the Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) grant scheme on behalf of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).
The majority of participating companies are generally eligible to claim a TAP grant, making the Pavilion the most cost-effective vehicle for getting to these huge international markets.
Companies are only eligible to apply for a grant if they are taking exhibition space independently or are part of the UK Indies Pavilion, and are defined as ‘New Exporter’. Companies just buying delegate passes only are not eligible to apply.
Confirmation of eligibility generally takes two weeks from receipt of correctly completed forms. The application process is free so if you think you are eligible, you should apply as early as possible.
Costs of attending
The all inclusive cost of attending MIPTV is £1950.
Please note your stand fee does not include your accreditation fee with the organisers, Reed Midem. However, you will be entitled to a subsidised umbrella rate. We recommend you apply for your accreditation as soon as possible once your place on the UK Indies Pavilion is confirmed.
Once registered, you will be able to gain access to the MIP buyers database which will help you plan your meetings during the market.
NB: When applying to Reed Midem please ask for the "umbrella" rate, not the early bird rate. The latter is more expensive and once you have applied for it Reed Midem will not transfer you to the cheaper umbrella rate.
Accommodation & Travel
Your stand fee does not include your travel and accommodation. We strongly recommend you arrange this as soon as possible, as Cannes gets extremely full during the market.
You can either organise your own accommodation or via Reed Midem once you have applied for your accreditation.
Many regional screen agencies also offer assistance towards travel and accommodation – these differ region by region so you will need to contact your local agency for more details.
NB: Please note if you book accommodation through Reed Midem you will be charged a minimum of 4 nights.
