The UK independent production sector is the largest exporter of television formats in the world. In 2012, the total estimated revenue from the international sale of UK TV programmes and associated activities was £1.224 billion. Pact aims to continue this growth by campaigning for the most efficient economic, legal and regulatory climate for its members to operate and trade.
"Pact has transformed independent television production in the UK into a billion pound industry."
Cat Lewis, Nine Lives Media
Pact works closely with government and other relevant organisations to promote efficient and effective trade policies for the UK creative industries. Pact engages in regular policy discussions with government and regulators, and is a founding member of the European independent producer trade body CEPI.
Pact is also helping to sell UK content to the world. Under its UK indies banner, Pact leads delegations to fairs and trade visits around the globe. For more information about upcoming markets, trade visits and information sessions, visit the Pact calendar.
Pact is also developing strategies and building relationships with international organisations to enable its members to access new and emerging markets – both geographically and on new platforms. With the support of UK Trade and Investment, Pact has created the UK indies and TV Commissions apps – giving producers and broadcasters new ways to interact, buy and sell.
