About

Pact is the UK trade association that represents and promotes the commercial interests of independent content producers from feature film, television, children's & animation and interactive media companies. Headquartered in London, Pact has regional representation throughout the UK, in order to support its members.

A highly effective lobbying organisation, it has regular and constructive dialogues with government, regulators, public agencies and opinion formers on all issues affecting its members and contributes to key public policy debates on the media industry, both in the UK and in Europe.

Pact negotiates terms of trade with all public service broadcasters in the UK and supports members in their business dealings with cable and satellite channels. It also lobbies for a properly structured and funded UK film industry and maintains close contact with the UK Film Council and other relevant film organisations and government departments.

A comprehensive range of support and information services are available to all its members including business affairs guidance, subsidised legal advice, contracts and agreements, the Pact website and regular member e-bulletins.

It administers the Indie Training Fund levy for television producers and is a partner in the Skills Investment Fund – the feature film training levy administered by Skillset.  Pact's business affairs department negotiates and maintains film and TV agreements with broadcasters and Unions. It also provides Pact members with model contracts and supplies help and advice about industrial relations issues.
