Dawn McCarthy-Simpson
about me
Dawn has had a varied media career, which started with five years in the world of commercial radio with Emap Plc, before launching her career with a TV and Film School in Yorkshire, in areas of TV, Film and Theatre. Four years later she was head hunted to launch Yorkshire’s first local terrestrial TV channel, where she remained for a further two years as Managing Director. Dawn then went on to be involved with the launch of a second channel, this time a national digital channel, Propeller TV. In her final year she successfully launched the Propeller channel into a further seven European countries. She also produced and directed a daily entertainment programme.
Not satisfied with having experience both in TV & Radio, Dawn also ventured into the literary world when she became a published author in June 2006.
Currently Dawn is the Out of London Director for Pact, responsible for policy, development and campaigning across the Nations and Regions membership. Dawn is also responsible for the UK Indie Pavilion at MIPTV and MIPCOM, in Cannes, which hosts over 100 independent producers each year.
She also sits on various industry panels:
- Skillset Industry Panel board member - Cymru
